The purpose of this study was to investigate middle school students' perception degree on physical education purposes in middle school curriculum. A total of 1,258 middle school students responded to the questionnaire designed to assess their perception rank on physical education purposes.The perception rank of physical education's three domain was graded by psychomotor domain, affective domain, and cognitive domain. Male students had tendency to importantly perceive the purposes of psychomotor domain. And female students had tendency to importantly perceive the purposes of affective domain. Physical education purpose importantly perceived in cognitive domain was the understanding relations between exercise and health. The development of fitness was importantly perceived in the physical education purposes of psychomotor domain. And physical education purposes importantly perceived in affective domain were the acquirement of cooperation, the cultivation of endurance, and the cultivation of challenge. The purposes of physical education's three domains were equally reflected in the development of new physical education curriculum. The results of this study would provide fundamental informations in developing new physical education curriculum.
