This study aims to find to answer why we should teach Pansori in the cultural-literacy as the object of Korean language and literature education. So Lee Chung-jun should be modelled that showed his ability of cultural-literacy, and it was researched how Pansori education function as cultural-literacy on Lee Chung-jun's Namdo-Saram series. The concept of cultural-literacy in this thesis is that to have the literacy about the classic culture can be the necessary literacy about the modern culture. In this point of view, it was researched how Namdo-Saram series received Pansori and how the literacy about Pansori works on the appreciation of the modern literature and the reproduction of Pansori with the theory of the empathic appropriation. The concept of the empathic appropriation is combining the empathy on the literature and the appropriation as renewed expression of the result of the acceptance. Inthe viewpoint of accomplishing the cultural-literacy, Namdo-Saram series show that the empathic appropriation of Pansori could be the object and contents of Korean language and literature education.The meaning of the cultural-literacy education through Pansori is as follow; 1) the possibility of approaching Pansori in the viewpoint of enjoying literature, 2)the integration of the classic and modern through Pansori, 3)the possibility of educating the learner as the subject of the culture, 4)the possibility of the traditional culture education.
