This study is qualitative analysis about reading experience stories and interviews of 187 participants to find the characteristics of adolescent readers’ reading experience. Adolescent readers have difficulty in the process of growing up from child readers to adolescent readers and the reason is due to the change such as more difficulty or more pages of books. However, with this difficulty they experience the pleasure of reading. Adolescent readers say they take pleasure when they read the book they want by themselves and they gain knowledge through reading. Also adolescent readers show the clear preference about specific fields or genres. Various factors have an influence on adolescent readers’ reading interactively. In order to expand adolescent readers’ reading, it is needed to support adolescent readers’ choice and give an autonomous reading’ opportunity and make them experience the pleasure of getting knowledge through reading. It is necessary to understand concretely about adolescent readers’ reading experience and to provide reading educational method reflecting their needs and situations.
