The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of middle school students' depression and aggression on the relationship between their perceived dependence on mobile phones and their school life adaptation. To achieve that, these researchers used the 3rd year data about the 1st year students of middle school in ‘2012 Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS 2012)' by National Youth Policy Institute to conduct Pearson's Product-Moment Correlation Analysis, and the Mediation Effect Analysis of Baron and Kenny(1986). According to the analyses, first, middle school students' dependence on mobile phones and their depression and aggression had a relation with their school life adaptation; secondly, regarding the mediating effect of depression and aggression on the relationship between their dependence on mobile phones and their school life adaptation, depression produced full mediating effect on the relationship, whereas aggression had partial mediating effect. The results indicate that it is necessary to develop a depression reduction program to prevent their dependence on mobile phones and help out their school life adaptation.
