This thesis is concerned with the problem of comparing environment testing standards. The climatic environmental tests and the mechanical environmental tests in the environmental testing standards IEC60068, MIL-STD-750D, MIL-STD-810F, MIL-STD-883E, JEDC22 are compared. Low temperature, high temperature, change of temperature, cycle of temperature and humidity, low pressure ,salt spray, water, solar radiation, dust and sand, mould growth, sulphur dioxide, and hydrogen sulphide tests are considered for the climatic ones, and sinusoidal vibration, free fall, shock, acceleration, solderability, and solderability testing by wetting balance for the mechanical ones. Each environmental test is analyzed and compared in terms of the pre-conditioning, severity, recovery, and failure criteria, and their features and differences between standards are presented.
