Along with the spread of sustainability, world-class corporates have realized their vision and goals through focusing on sustainability management including environmental soundness and social responsibility. Although diverse methods are utilized for measuring the degree of environmental management by assessing sustainability management performance worldwide, it is hard to find researches about current environmental education of domestic corporates. Therefore, in this study, the current environmental education of domestic corporates was analyzed by collecting sustainability reports produced by 11 corporates conducting sustainability management. Results are as follow. The corporates publishing sustainability report in Korea recognized necessity and significancy of environmental education. They were aware of need and importance of environmental education in management, and endeavored to extend the portion of environmental education. They were also informing stakeholders of corporate management performance through sustainability report, and were rapidly coping with the worldwide trend by building an organization for pursuing sustainable management. They reflected sustainability management to their vision and mission, and connected sustainability management to diverse practicable ways for promoting the CEO’ awareness on environment management. 6 corporates, which mentioned environmental education in their sustainability report, conducted environmental education in terms of environmental soundness aspect and social responsibility aspect. In aspect of environmental soundness corporates were offering environmental education which is mainly performed within the environmental management system, education for the practice of environmental management, environmental education aimed at persons in charge of environment, and education in preparation for contingency. In the other aspect, they were performing environmental preservation activities for the local community by both corporate`s program and staff`s voluntary participation. As for the other 5 corporates, although they did not specifically mention environmental education in their sustainability reports, they were performing diverse environmental preservation activities suited to their features. The 11 corporates showed differences in environmental education activities and practice according to their manufacturing industry, corporates, service industry, and direct relationship with citizens. It would be necessary to reinforce sustainability management through the activation of the corporate`s environmental education in the future.
