The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of regular stretching to prevent or limit the effects of Musculoskeletal Disorder among white color workers who utilize computers in their professional lives. 34 individuals took a survey on stretching habits in the workplace. From those 34, 16 were selected to participate in the study. Eight were the test subjects and the other eight acted as controls. The study lasted 12 weeks and involved stretching three times a day during the entire five day work week. The KOSHA Code's established guidelines and the VAS index were used to monitor pain levels during the experiment. Flexibility was measured through the Trunk Flexion and Trunk Flexion Forward test. The results of this study have led to a number of conclusions. 1) Pain levels in the hand/wrist/fingers, arm/elbow, shoulder, and neck were reduced in the test subjects. The control group showed greater levels of pain. Statistical analysis showed no inherent differences (p <.05) in pain levels for the lower back, knees or ankles. However, taking into consideration a numerical comparison between the two groups stretching did help to alleviate pain. 2) VAS data also showed that test subjects who participated in the stretching regimen had statistically and numerically lower pain levels. Among the control group pain increased during the test period. 3) During the 12 weeks the Trunk Flexion and Trunk Flexion Forward tests reiterate the previous trend. Among test subjects stretching improved flexibility, while the control group experienced a decrease in flexibility. In conclusion, adding stretching to an employee's daily routine increases flexibility and cuts down on pain levels. Therefore, in order to increase employee satisfaction and work productivity among the primarily sedentary class of work positions with repetitious processes, it is recommended that an effective program with minimal time commitments be developed to combat work related injury. Further research, with a larger sample population, needs to be conducted in order to determine an appropriate workout for each part of the body.
