The purpose of this study is to explore the effect of transformational leadership on learning organization effectiveness according to types of organizational culture. Participants for this study were total 400 employees from an airplane product corporation(N=300) and university hospital(N=100). They were asked to complete a questionnaire consisting of items about their supervisor's leadership behavior, organizational culture and learning organization effectiveness. Data from 244 cases were used for final analysis. Each scales' construct validity were tested by factor analysis. Also reliability coefficients of each subscale were calculated by Cronbach's coefficients. Transformational Leadership Scale have three subscales : Charisma : 4 items, Cronbach's α = .808 Intellectual stimulation : 4 items, Cronbach's α = .881 Indivisualized consideration : 4 items, Cronbach's α = .827 Organizational Culture Scale have two types of culture : Group/Developmental organizational culture :9 items, Cronbach's α= .887 Hierarchical/Ratinal organizationa culture : 8 items, Cronbach's α= .757 Learning Organization Effectiveness Scale have four subscales : Organizational support : 8 items, Cronbach's α = .895 Personal support : 5 items, Cronbach's α = .872 Cooperation : 6 items, Cronbach's α = .825 Technical support system : 4 items, Cronbach's α = .805 Statistical method used to analyze data were standard multiple regression analysis and t-test. For testing research hypothesis, First, analyze differences in learning organization effectiveness according to levels of transformational leadership by t-test. According to result, high level of transformational leadership group has more learning organization effectiveness. Second, which types of organizational cultures are more relate to learning organization effectiveness? According to result, Group/Developmental organizational culture more relate to learning organization effectiveness than Hierarchical/Ratinal organizationa culture. Finally, there were interactive effect in transformational leadership and organizational culture on learning organization effectiveness. It's interactive effect was significant to learning organization effectiveness. Main results of this study revealed that transformational leadership and Group/Developmental Culture have statistically significant main effective to learning organization effectiveness. And interactive effect of transformational leadership and Group/Developmental culture was statistically significant on learning organization effectiveness. Through this results, learning organization, organizational culture and leadership need more research. Transformational leadership is well suited in Group/Developmental culture for effect learning organization, because transformational leaders are more change oriented in leadership style. Some limits of this study and future directions of the study in this issue were discussed.
