UV임프린트 리소그래피의 LCD생산적용을 위해서는 정렬방법의 개선과 레진의 두께 조절을 이용한 몰드변형 제어가 필요하다고 판단된다.

An alignment process between a mold and a panel is one of important processes for commercializing nanoimprint lithography. The alignment process of nanoimprint lithography should be done with the resin filled between the mold and the panel. The resin is solidified by ultra-violet light. We developed an alignment device and made an experiment for second generation LCD production process. The patterns on the mold are transcribed into the panel in the form of a transparent film. Alignment accuracy is ±1.5㎛, where fiducial marks with circular shape are used. Improvement of alignment process is going to reduce time and cost of a higher value-added business like an alternative LCD or semiconductor production process instead photo lithography. Several error sources are analyzed when aligning flexible glasses into the target position used in nano-imprint lithography. When aligning a mold and a target glass, two fiducial marks on each are typically used with machine vision camera in order to eliminate relative positional error. However, the flexibility of the glass and mold can cause error in relative position between two fiducial marks. We investigate these error sources in this work: difference of refraction rates between mold, resin, and the target glass; angular inclination of glasses; shape distortion of the marks due to glass deformation from the gravity. Finally, the design values are suggested as guidance for designing fiducial marks. Finally, deformation of a mold is measured and analyzed in alignment and curing processes of UV-Imprint Lithography. We are focused on mold deformation caused by a UV resin, which is laminated between a mold and a target glass-panel. The UV resin is viscous in case of liquid state, and the resin will be solidified when being exposed by the ultra-violet light. The viscosity of the resin causes shear force on the mold during the alignment process. Moreover, the shrinkage during phase change from liquid to solid may cause residual stress on the mold. The experiments for measuring temperature and strain are made during alignment and curing process. Strain-gages and thermocouples are used for measuring the strain and variation of temperature on several points of the mold, respectively. The deformation of mold is also simulated and analyzed. The simulation results are compared with the experiments. Finally, sources of alignment errors in large area UV-nanoimprint lithography are discussed. The conclusion is that lack of uniformity makes alignment error. Especially, thickness of the resin occur variable shear force, heat generation and shrinkage. We have to reduce unevenness in UVimprint lithography to apply LCD production
