This study was conducted to evaluate the growth and ecophysiological response of economical plant six leaf species(four kinds of lettuce(Lactuca sativa L. cv. Yeolpung, L. Sativa cv. Manchu, L sativa cv. greengoal.), crown daisy(Chrysanthemum cornarium L. cv. Gaeryang saddo), pak-choi(Brassica compsteris L. ssp Chinensis), Horseradish(Wasabi koreana), ginseng(Panax ginseng), wild mountain ginseng(Panax ginseng), chinese matrimony vine(Lycium chinense), china grass(Boenmeria nivea)by light treatment of LED in plant factory. These results summarized as follow;
1. Leaf vegetables
1) Leaf vegetables
(1) Different LED light sources treatments: Shoot biomass and S/R ratio of romaine lettuce were highest under the mixed red+blue LEDs. S/R ratio of head lettuce was higher under the mixed red+blue+white LEDs. The rest of kind showed no difference in LED light treatment.
(2) Irradiation time of ratio red:blue LEDs: Shoot biomass, total biomass and S/R ratio of green lettuce, head lettuce and pak-choi were highest in the higher red ratio(5:1).
(3) Different duty ratio (red+blue and red+blue+white LEDs): Under the mixed light of red+blue, shoot and root biomass of crown daisy and romaine lettuce were high in duty ratio of 100% and 99%, and S/R ratio was highest in all the 6 kinds in duty ratio of 97%. All the 6 kinds showed a comparable growth state in low duty ratio(97%). Green lettuce, romainen lettuce and pak-choi showed relatively high shoot biomass and total biomass in low duty ratio of 97% under the mixed light of red+blue+white. S/R ratio of romaine lettuce and head lettuce were highest in the duty ratio of 97% with red+blue+white LEDs.

(1) Different LED sources treatments: Shoot length was highest in red LEDs, and leaves number and total biomass was highest in mixed red+blue LEDs. Specific leaf area was highest in mixed red+F-red or monochromic blue. Photosynthetic rate was highest under mixed light of blue+red LEDs.
(2) Irradiation time of ratio red:blue LEDs: Total biomass was highest in the condition of 1:1. And photosynthetic rate and water use efficiency were highest in the condition of 2:1 and chlorophyll content was highest in the condition of 10:1.
(3) Different duty ratio(red+blue and red+blue+white LEDs): Under the mixed light of red+blue, the number of tiller was highest in duty ratio of 100% and 99%. And photosynthetic ratio and water use efficiency and chlorophyll content were highest in the condition of duty ratio 97%. Under the mixed light of red+blue+white, specific leaf area was high in the condition of duty ratio 99, 97%. Shoot biomass was high in the condition of duty ratio 97%. And photosynthetic ratio and water use efficiency were highest in the condition of duty ratio 100%. Chlorophyll content was highest in the condition of duty ratio 97%.

1) P. ginseng
(1) Different LED sources treatments: Root biomass of 1-year-old ginseng was highest in the condition of monochromic blue and mixed red+R+fR. Photosynthetic ratio of 1-year old ginseng was highest under the mixed red+blue LEDs. And chlorophyll content of 1-year-old ginseng was highest under red.
(2) Irradiation time of ratio red:blue LEDs: Root biomass of 1-year-old ginseng was highest in the condition of 10:1. But photosynthetic rate of 1-year old ginseng was highest in the condition 1:1. There no differences in chlorophyll content of 1-year-old ginseng.
