In recent years, the wireless power technology has made considerable progress, more and more applications of it are put into practice. However, the safety issues relating to that technology is still one of the major challenges in extending and deploying applications. Because the foreign objects (metallic or magnetic objects) have the ability to absorb energy from the wireless power supply field in the form of heat (heating parasitic) and it can become a danger, so the selective and qualitative detection of foreign objects around the system becomes very important. In this thesis, we proposed several methods to detect the foreign object. The first method is based on FFT (Fast Fourier Transformation) with the development and experimental validation. The algorithm was developed using frequency domain analyses on experimental and verified by results in the simulations of the PSIM program. So it has demonstrated as an effective method for analyzing wireless power systems for foreign object differentiation and detection. Furthermore, the second method is proposed on the phase detection. In this method, the detection scheme is presented, however, the extend circuit is not implemented due to lack of time. It will be done for future work with the experimental relevant together. Both of these methods have the advantages such as low cost and small response time. So they are useful for manufacturers and designers in the process of product design as well as commercialization process.
