Epidemic diseases are illnesses which can be spread to other people. Once they begin to spread, the number of infected people increases as time passes and this causes many problems socially. Also, with the appearances of new diseases such as swine flu, SARS, and MERS in the 21st century, many people have been infected. One method that is being researched to prevent this is to construct a diffusion model of disease to predict the spreading and stop it when an epidemic diseases occurs. One of the most representative models for explaining the spread of disease is the SIR (Susceptible – Infected – Recovered) model. General epidemic model assumed that the spread of disease followed a deterministic process. However, we considered model fitting based on the stochastic process of disease spread. We also assumed that the happening of the species in the model followed the Poison process and constructed the model using the stochastic chemical reaction model. We utilized the Bayesian estimation approach using MCMC (Markov chain Monte Carlo) based on he Gillespie algorithm. We applied the proposed method to Korean real pandemic data, which is the number of Influenza A virus subtype H1N1 patients accumulated for 118 days during the period between May 2009 when the first domestic Influenza A virus subtype H1N1 patient was identified and August 2009. Result of showed that the model fit well with the existing data. I would like to propose that this study be used to estimate the number of patients with epidemic diseases in the future and have some viable alternatives prepared in advance.
