Total hydrocarbon(THC) refers to all hydrocarbons such as alkane, alkyne and aromatic hydrocarbon etc. as compounds composed of carbon and hydrogen. Since the domestic THC emission standard is only applied to painting, printing and cement manufacturing facilities, it is necessary to set standards for other types of emission facilities. Therefore, in this study, THC concentration and VOCs analysis were performed on 12 organic solvent use facilities of 6 sites that were not subject to the THC standard. THC was detected in all discharge facilities, and the average concentration was 312.5 ppm(the highest concentration was 810.3 ppm, and the lowest concentration was 77.1 ppm). Analysis of acrylonitrile, dichloromethane, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, styrene, xylene and 1,2-dichloroethane using GC / MSD showed that toluene and styrene were detected in all discharge facilities and most of the remaining substances were also detected. As a result of this study, it is considered necessary to set the THC standard for the organic solvent use facility. If the research is carried out in more various types of emission facilities, it can be used as the basic data for the environmental standard setting and VOCs analysis.
