One of the areas benefiting from the accumulation of big data is face recognition. This study set out to investigate what should be supplemented in the FaceNet theory using the example of two libraries based on papers about FaceNet, which boasts incredible performance in the field of face recognition. The two libraries used in this study checked the risk involved in the method of comparing all the untrained data with the trained data, treated the trained data with a label, and analyzed the principle of face recognition. The features derived from the calculation of gradients used in the HOG (Histogram of Oriented Gradients) algorithm used in the Face Detect stage and the feature extraction method of treating the resulting light and shade matched the parts showing facial expressions to a great degree. The Dlib face pose estimation algorithm used by the affine transformation algorithm recognized a face based on changing facial expressions. The investigator tested the data that had not been trained in the FaceNet Library which consulted the davidsandiverg Library and compared the constant changing facial expressions with those of the trained data, confirming that the untrained data was treated with a label. Furthermore, the investigator divided the facial expressions of a person into three groups (happy, sardonic, and gloomy) by using the OpenFace Library, treated them differently with different labels, and observed how the labels would change according to facial expressions with the untrained data of completely different ages, genders, and races. The observation results show that there was much dependence on facial expressions during face recognition with non-trained data. The face recognition technique used in the present study could be improved with an increased accuracy level of 70% or higher. The significance of the study, however, lies in its attempt at a higher precision of the face recognition technique in a follow-up study on the recognition method of incorporating face recognition into facial expression recognition.
