어떠한 이유 때문에 CO2 를 비롯한 탄소 화학종의 용해도 및 화학 변화에 대한 연구에 많은 양의 탄소들이 용해될 수 있는 고압 실험이 주를 이루었는가? | 자연계 조성의 규산염 물질 내의 CO2 의 용해도는 1959년에 처음 측정되었으며(Wyllie and Tuttle, 1959), 초기 연구들은 상업용 규산염 물질들을 중심으로 규산염 물질에 대한 CO2 의 용해도를 밝혔다(Pearce, 1964; Blank and Brooker, 1994). 1930 년대부터 규산염 물질에 용해된 탄소 화학종의 양을 측정하고자 하였으나, 기술적인 한계로 인해 1970년대에 이르러서야 직접적인 방법으로 용해도를 측정할 수 있었다(Blank and Brooker, 1994). 그 후로 많은 연구들이 규산염 물질 내의 CO2 의용해도를 측정하였으나(Mysen et al., 1975; Fine and Stolper, 1985; Stolper et al., 1987; Kohn et al., 1991; Pawley et al., 1992; Brooker et al., 1999; King and Holloway, 2002; Nowak et al., 2004; Mysen et al., 2009; Morizet et al., 2010), 같은 시료에 대해서도 용해도를 측정하는 방법에 따라 탄소의 용해도가 다르게 나올 수 있으며, 탄소 화학종의 용해도가 1 기압 하에서는 매우 낮기 때문에 실험적으로 측정을 할 수 없다는 단점이 있다. 이런 이유로 CO2 를 비롯한 탄소 화학종의 용해도 및 화학 변화에 대한 연구에는 비교적 많은 양의 탄소들이 용해될 수 있는 고압 실험이 주를 이루었다. |
