가정중심 호흡재활 프로그램의 장점은 무엇인가? | 그러나 병원을 방문하는 번거로움과 교통비가 소모되는 단점이 있다. 그에 반해 가정중심 호흡재활 프로그램은 환자의 신체적 상태에 따라 프로그램 내용을 조절할 수 있어 운동량 조절이 가능하며, 병원 방문의 번거로움을 줄일 수 있다(KATRD, 2015). 또한 COPD 환자를 대상으로 호흡재활 프로그램을 수행한 무작위시험설계 중 병원중심 호흡재활과 가정중심 호흡재활은 삶의 질이나, 호흡곤란에 있어서 동일하게 긍정적인 효과를 보였다(Maltais et al., 2008). 뿐만 아니라 가정중심 호흡재활은 집 혹은 원하는 장소에서 환자 스스로 프로그램을 수행함으로써 증상완화를 통한 삶의 질 향상을 가져오고, 공간, 장비, 인력에 따른 부대비용을 절감할 수 있다. 따라서 개인, 가족 및 지역 사회 측면에서 경제적 부담을 줄이면서 환자에게 편리하고, 장기적인 자기관리 능력을 유도하기 위해서는 가정에서의 호흡재활 프로그램이 적극적으로 이루어질 필요가 있다(Boxall, Barclay, Sayers, & Caplan, 2005; KATRD, 2015). |
