기록관리학은 전통적인 기록학과 문서관리, 디지털 데이터의 처리에 이르기까지 복합학적인 학문으로 재정립 하였다. 본 연구에서는 국내 기록관리학 대표 학술지인 "한국기록관리학회지"와 "기록학연구"에 2000년부터 2015년까지 게재된 681편의 논문을 조사하여 기록관리 분야의 학제성과 주제 변화 추이에 대해 분석하였다. 이를 위해 두 학술지에 발표된 모든 논문으로부터 저자의 소속기관, 직업, 학문분야, 공저자, 그리고 주제 분야를 추출하였다. 분석방법으로 빈도분석과 네트워크 분석을 사용하였다. 분석 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 두 학회지는 연구자 배경(소속 기관, 직업, 학문문야)에서 분명한 차이를 보인다. 둘째, 공동연구는 점차 증가하는 추세이며, 대학이 중심이 되어 연구가 이루어졌다. 셋째, 각 학회지별 주제 변화 추이를 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 각 기관별로 중심이 되는 주제 영역에 차이를 확인할 수 있었다.
