토양동물의 감소가 일으키는 현상은? | 그러나 각종 유기물의 분해와 무기화를 수행하는 주역으로서 토양동물군집의 구성, 구조 및 요소 간 상호작용에 대한 지식은 다른 고등 동․식물에 비해 지극히 빈약한 실정이다(Lee, 1996). 토양동물은 토양의 수분 함량과 먹이가 서식을 좌우하는 결정적인 요소이므로 이들의 감소는 토양동물의 역할인 유기물의 분쇄(분해)와 경운작용이 줄어들면서 생태계의 물질순환 고리가 차단되므로 산림의 자연성이 열악해지는 요인이 된다(Choi, 1996). 따라서 토양동물이 자연환경과 밀접한 관계를 유지하면 동물의 개체 수와 종수가 증가하고, 자연적․인위적인 자연 파괴에 의해 토양동물의 생태계도 위협받게 된다(Son and Choi, 2000). |
