간호대학생의 대학생활적응, 전공만족도, 임상실습만족도와 직업정체성 간의 관계를 알아보고 간호대학생의 직업정체성에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악함으로써 간호사로서의 직업정체성을 향상시키고 궁극적으로는 간호사 이직률을 감소시킬 방안을 강구하는 기초자료로 이용하고자 시행된 서술적 조사연구이다. 대상자는 D지역에 소재한 2개 대학에 재학 중인 간호학과 재학생으로 임상실습에 참여한 경험이 있는 3,4학년 학생 중 연구목적을 이해하고 자발적으로 연구 참여에 서면 동의한 335명에게 설문지를 배부하고, 부적절하게 응답한 18부를 제외한 317명(응답률 94.6%)의 설문지를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 대학생활적응, 전공만족도, 임상실습만족도, 직업정체성 네 변수 간에는 모두 통계적으로 유의미한 정(+)의 상관관계가 있었다. 또한, 대학생활적응, 전공만족도, 임상실습만족도가 증가할수록 직업정체성도 높아졌고 회귀모형의 설명력은 50.6%였다. 직업정체성에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인은 독립변수 대학생활적응이었다. 결론적으로, 간호대학생에게 간호사로의 직업정체성을 높여 신규 간호사의 이직률을 낮추기 위해서는 간호대학에서 대학생활적응력을 높일 수 있고 전공만족도와 임상실습만족도를 향상시킬 수 있는 방법을 지속적으로 개발하여 적용하려는 노력이 필요하다. 특히 대학생활적응, 전공만족도, 임상실습만족도, 직업정체성 모두에 영향을 미치는 실습만족도를 향상시키려는 구체적인 노력이 필수적이다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate levels of vocational identity, adaptation in a nursing school, and nursing student satisfaction with major and clinical practice, to examine their interrelationships, and to investigate predictors affecting the vocational identity of nursing students. The participants were 335 nursing students in D city who were surveyed from October to December 2016 using a self-report questionnaire. The data from 317 participants (response rate 94.6%) were analyzed. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between college adaptation, satisfaction with major, satisfaction with clinical practice, and vocational identity. In the multiple regression analysis, college adaptation, satisfaction with major, and satisfaction with clinical practice were factors significantly associated with the vocational identity. These three factors explained 50.6% of the vocational identity of nursing students. Due to the high turnover rate among new nurses, it is critical that nursing students have a vocational identity as nurses. In order to improve vocational identity, nurse educators should consider helping students to adapt to nursing college, and to become satisfied with major and clinical practice.

대상 데이터

이론/모형

대학생활적응 척도는 Baker와 Siryk[20]가 제작한 학생적응도검사(The Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire)를 Lee[21]가 번안 및 수정하고 Ju[22]가 수정·보완한 것을 사용하였다. 이 도구는 학업적 적응(5문항), 사회적 적응(5문항), 정서적 적응(5문항), 신체적적응(4문항), 대학에 대한 애착(5문항)으로 총 24문항으로 구성되어 있다.
임상실습만족도는 Cho와 Kang[23]이 개발한 도구와 Lee[24]이 개발한 도구를 Lee, Kim과 Kim[25]이 수정보완한 도구를 사용하였다. 도구는 총 31문항, 6개 하위 (실습교과 만족도 3문항, 실습내용 만족도 6문항, 실습지도 만족도 9문항, 실습환경 만족도 7문항, 실습시간 만족도 3문항, 실습평가 만족도 3문항)영역으로 구성되 었으며, 각 문항은 5점 척도로 ‘전혀 그렇지 않다’ 1점에서 ‘매우 그렇다’ 5점까지로 점수가 높을수록 임상실습 만족도가 높음을 의미한다.
전공만족도는 Ha[26]이 개발하고 Lee[27]가 수정보완한 도구를 사용하였다. 도구는 총 18문항, 4개의 하위 (일반만족 6문항, 인식만족 6문항, 교과만족 3문항, 교수 -학생간의 관계만족 3문항) 영역으로 구성되었다.
직업정체성은 Holland, Gottfredson, & Power[7]가 개발한 My Vocational Situation (MVS)의 하위 영역 중 VI (Vocational Identity Inventory Scale)을 Kim[18]이 한국어로 번안하고 Kwon[19]이 간호대학생의 Vocational identity를 측정하기 위해 수정 보완한 도구를 이용하여 측정하였다. 도구는 총 14문항, 4점 척도로 구성되었으며, 채점은 역환산하여, 점수가 높을수록 직업정체감이 높은 것을 의미한다.

성능/효과

이러한 결과는 직업정체성은 학년이 올라감에 따라 상승한다는 Oh와 Lee [17], Lee [38]과 일치하는 결과로, 본 연구에서도 3학년보다 4학년에서 통계적으로 유의하게 높은 결과를 보인 것과 일치된다. 또한, 본 연구 결과, 직업정체성은 학년, 건강상태, 간호학과 선택 동기, 성적, 실습만족 정도에 따라 통계적으로 의미가 있었다. 이러한 결과는 직업정체성은 학업성적, 간호학과 선택동기, 대학생활만족도, 간호만족도에 따라 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있다는 Nam과 Lee [15]연구결과와 유사하다.

이러한 결과는 Jeon과 Kim [33]연구에서 전공만족도, 동료관계, 건강상태, 입학동기에 따라 임상실습만족도에 영향을 미친다는 결과와는 다소 차이가 있다. 따라서, 입학동기나 성적, 교우 관계가 임상실습만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지는 추후 반복적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다. 하위 요인 별로는 ‘실습환경’ 3.
