한류의 역사는 어떻게 되는가? | KOFICE(2009)는 한류의 역사를 3단계로 구분하고 있다(Table 1). 1기(1997~ 2000년대 초)는 드라마, 음악을 중심으로 중국, 대만, 베트남에서 한류가 생겨났으며, 한류 콘텐츠가 해외 소비 자들에게 강한 인상을 심어주었던 시기다. 2기(2000년 대 초~2000년대 중반)는 한류 심화기로, 드라마 전성기 이면서도 한류 분야가 영화, 온라인 게임 등으로 확산되어 디지털 한류가 탄생했다. 한류 지역도 중국, 일본, 대만, 동남아시아로 확대되었다. 3기(2000년대 중반 이후) 에는 중국, 일본 등에서 혐한류와 반한류 분위기가 나타났으나, 중앙아시아 등에서는 한류가 붐을 일으켜 도입기, 성장기에 접어들었다. 초기에는 한류보다는 한국의 대중문화가 인기를 끌며, 호기심에서 시작되었고, 일정 시기가 경과되면서 한류라는 용어와 문화가 새롭게 태어나게 되어 한류 심화 단계를 거쳐 현재에 이르고있다. |
