우리나라의 산업화와 여성 사회진출의 증가는 어떠한 영향을 끼쳤는가? 우리나라의 산업화와 여성 사회진출의 증가는 가족구조와 기능에 변화를 초래하였고 시설 보육의 필요성과 중요성에 영향을 미쳤으며 지속적인 저출산 수준은 보육의 질의 확보에 대한 사회적 공감대를 형성하였다. 보육의 질 향상을 위한 시설의 확충과 보육 서비스에 대한 개선요구가 높아짐에 따라 보육의 질에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 보육교사는 중요요인으로 간주되고 있다(Koo, 2007).
보육교사의 우울과 직무 스트레스 간의 매개 요인을 확인하는 연구가 수행될 필요를 느낀 이유는? 본 연구에서 자기효능감 및 사회적 지지와 우울의 정적인 관계는 우울함이 자아 및 환경에 대한 인식과 지지와 자기 목표의 수립 및 시행과 관련이 있다는 선행연구와 유사한 결과이다(Choi 2016; Lee &Ryu, 2019). 우울과 직무 스트레스와의 부적 상관관계는 본연구결과에서 보인 결과와 같이 보육교사에게 제공하는 사회적 지지의 내용과 사회적 지지에 대한 보육교사의 인식 차이와 관련이 있다고 판단되며 직무 스트레스와 우울 간의 관계에 있어서 직무 스트레스에 대한 영향요인인 성격 특성이나 대처방식(Park, Lia, &An, 2015)이 중간 매개 요인으로 작용한 결과로 생각된다. 이에 보육교사의 우울과 직무 스트레스 간의 매개 요인을 확인하는 연구가 수행될 필요성이 있다고 보인다.
