Purpose : The first case of coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) disease outbreak in Korea occurred in January 2020, and the cumulative number of confirmed cases by the Central Defense Response Headquarters of the Quality Management Administration as of November 30 was 34,201. Looking at the incidence trend of domestic confirmed cases by age, the incidence rate of COVID-19 in the age group of 20-29 years, which corresponds to college students, was 27.4 %, the highest compared by age group. Considering the current status of the infection rate, universities will become the centers of new COVID-19 cases if face-to-face lectures are recommenced without preparatory measures and analysis of infection prevention (e.g., infection awareness and education for university students). Thus, this study intended to investigate the level of knowledge, educational needs, and preventive behavior performance of college students about COVID-19 and provide basic data for the development of an education program for the prevention of COVID-19 for college students. Methods : This study is a descriptive correlational study aimed to investigate the correlation between knowledge about COVID-19, educational needs, and degree of preventive behavior performance in 407 college students attending one University in Gyeonggi-do. Results : The subjects' knowledge score about COVID-19 was 12.46±1.39 points, average educational needs score was 29.16±3.14 points, and prevention behavior performance survey result was 35.50±3.61 points. Moreover, positive correlation was observed between the knowledge about COVID-19 and educational needs (r=.203, p<.001) and knowledge and preventive behavior performance (r=.140, p=.005). Further, educational needs and preventive behavior performance demonstrated a statistically significant positive relationship (r=.311, p<.001). Conclusion : Therefore, organizing an educational program to acquire accurate knowledge is necessary to make it a habit for college students to practice preventive behavior against COVID-19.

본 연구는 일개 대학에서 재학 중인 대학생들을 대상으로 코로나바이러스감염증-19(COVID-19)에 대한지식, 교육요구도 및 예방행위 수행 정도를 파악하고, 제 변수 간의 상관성을 규명하기 위한 서술적 상관관계 연구이다.
본 연구는 코로나바이러스감염증-19(COVID-19)에 대한 대학생들의 지식 정도와 교육요구도 및 예방행위의 수행 정도를 조사하고 분석하여 코로나바이러스감염증-19(COVID-19) 예방을 위한 교육프로그램 마련을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하고자 한다.
본 연구는 코로나바이러스감염증-19(COVID-19)에 대한 대학생들의 지식과 교육요구도 그리고 예방행위 수행 정도를 파악하여 실제적인 예방교육 프로그램 마련의 기초적인 자료를 제공하고자 수행되었다.
이에 본 연구는 코로나바이러스감염증-19(COVID-19)에 대한 대학생들의 지식 정도와 교육요구도 및 예방행위 수행도를 조사하여 그 자료를 바탕으로 대학생을 위한 코로나바이러스감염증-19(COVID-19) 예방 교육프로그램 개발을 위한 기초자료로 제공하고자 한다.
제안 방법
설문조사는 현재 코로나바이러스감염증-19(COVID-19)의 유행으로 대부분의 학과가 온라인 비대면 강의를 진행하는 상황이므로 온라인 설문 참여방식으로 진행하였다.
코로나바이러스감염증-19에 관한 지식 정도를 측정하기 위해 본 연구자가 ‘코로나바이러스감염증-19 대응 지침’(KDCA, 2020)을 근거로 16개의 문항을 개발하였다
데이터처리
연구대상자의 일반적 특성 및 교육관련 특성, 코로나바이러스감염증-19(COVID-19)의 지식, 교육요구도, 예방행위 수행도는 기술통계를 사용하여 빈도, 백분율, 평균과 표준편차를 구하였다. 대상자의 일반적 특성과 교육관련 특성에 따른 지식, 교육요구도, 예방행위 수행도의 차이는 t-test와 ANOVA로 분석하였으며, ANOVA 분석 후 사후검정은 Tukey로 분석하였다. 코로나바이러스 감염증-19(COVID-19)에 대한 지식, 교육요구도, 예방행위 수행도 간의 상관관계는 Pearson’s correlation coefficients로 산출하였다.

이론/모형

성능/효과
다음으로 마스크 등의 보호장구 착용법에 대한 교육요구도는 92.6 %로 가장 낮게 조사되었으나 예방행위 수행도에서는'외출할 때는 반드시 마스크를 착용하였다'가 가장 높은 수행률을 보였는데, 이는 대다수의 학생들은 이미 마스크 착용이 코로나바이러스감염증-19(COVID-19) 예방을 위한 필수적인 방법임을 인지하고 수행하고 있기 때문으로 생각된다
본 연구에서는 코로나바이러스감염증-19(COVID-19)에 대한 대학생들의 지식수준과 예방행위 수행 정도는 중상위 수준을 보였고 지식과 교육요구도, 예방행위 수행 간에 통계적으로 유의한 정의 상관관계가 있음을 확인하였다. 따라서 예방행위의 수행을 습관화하기 위해서는 먼저 정확하고 올바른 지식을 배울 수 있는 교육 프로그램 구성이 필요하다.
연구대상자의 코로나바이러스 감염증-19(COVID-19)에 대한 교육요구도를 조사한 결과, 8개 문항 32점 만점에 평균 29.16±3.14점이었다(Table 3)

예방행위 수행도는 여학생과 19세 이상 21세 이하 연령대에서 통계적으로 유의하게 높은 점수로 확인되었다. 그러므로 교육프로그램 구성 시 성별과 연령의 차이를 고려하는 것이 중요한데, 특히 남학생과 연령대가 많은 학생의 긍정적인 행동 변화를 유도할 수 있는 실질적인 내용의 구성이 요구된다.
코로나바이러스감염증-19(COVID-19)에 대한 지식과 교육요구도, 예방행위 수행도 간의 상관관계는 지식과 교육요구도(r=.203, p<.001), 지식과 예방행위 수행도(r=.140, p=.005), 교육요구도와 예방행위 수행도(r=.311, p<.001) 모두 통계적으로 유의한 정의 관계를 보였다(Table 5).
후속연구
본 연구는 일개 대학으로 국한하여 본 연구 결과이므로 일반화에 한계가 있다고 본다. 그러므로 추후 이러한 한계점을 보완하여 대학과 계열을 양적으로 확대하고, 세부적인 영향요인을 확인하기 위한 반복 연구가 필요하다. 또한 본 연구 결과를 토대로 대중매체에 익숙한 세대인 학생들에게 적합한 방식으로, 혼돈하지 않고 정확한 지식과 올바른 수행을 익힐 수 있는 교육프로그램 적용 및 평가에 대한 연구를 제언한다.
