To determine the optimum nitrogen fertilization for the production of high quality vegetable, S. sarmentosum was cultivated by cutting propagation in the pot (1/5,000a) and field experiments treated with different levels of nitrogen 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 ㎏/10a and 0, 10, 15, 20, 25 ㎏/10a, respectively. In pot cultivation, plant height, number of stem, fresh weight and dry weigh were increased along with added nitrogen level, but they showed no significances in 15~30 ㎏/10a of nitrogen. SPAD value increased along with added nitrogen level, and it showed no significance in 10~30 ㎏/10a of nitrogen.
