화성 지역에서 생산되는 자연 패화석을 활용하기 위하여 포도원에 가공 패화석 분말비료를 대조구로 하여 토양 시용효과를 비교 검토하였다. 자연 패화석과 가공 패화석 분말비료는 무처리에 비하여 엽신, 엽병 및 과피의 무기 성분(Total-N, P, K, Ca, Mg) 함량을 증가시키지 못하였다. 자연 패화석 처리구는 열과 및 탄저병 발생률이 현저히 감소되었나, 착색 불량과률은 오히려 증가하였다. 또한 가공 패화석분말 비료는 열과 발생률을 줄이지 못하였다. 과방중은 전처리 모두 무처리구에 비하여 현저히 증가되었으나, 과립중, 과방장, 안토시아닌 함량, 경도 및 가용성 고형물에는 차이를 인정할 수 없었다. 따라서 화성 지역에서 생산되는 자연패화석은 포도원의 열과 및 탄저병 방지용으로 사용할 가치가 있었다.
