RésuméDes épisodes de leptospirose se produisent régulièrement en Argentine, mais la diversité épidémiologique est peu connue. Nous avons analysé la diversité génétique d’une collection de seize souches de L. interrogans serovar Pomona d’origine animale et humaine isolées en Argentine pendant les 45 dernières années. Le génotypage a été réalisé en utilisant la technique du MLVA (Multiple-Locus Variable-number tandem repeat Analyses) avec les loci VNTR4, VNTR7, VNTR9, VNTR10, VNTR19, VNTR23 et VNTR31, comme décrit par Majed et al. [Majed Z, Bellenger E, Postic D, Pourcel C, Baranton G, Picardeau M. Identification of variable-number tandem-repeat loci in Leptospira interrogans sensu stricto. J Clin Microbiol 2005;43:539–45]. Des analyses de groupes ont révélé quatre nouveaux génotypes MLVA distincts, avec un dominant. Les souches avec ce génotype ont été constamment isolées depuis 1960 jusqu’à aujourd’hui, principalement de vaches et de porcs, mais aussi d′humains, représentant 75% des souches totales analysées. Elles ont coexisté temporellement et géographiquement avec des isolats qui présentaient les autres nouveaux génotypes. Le locus VNTR4, avec quatre allèles différents, a présenté la plus grande diversité entre les loci VNTR analysés. Les profils MLVA obtenus seront utiles pour de futures analyses de diagnostic et de suivi épidémiologique.
