Various embodiments of a device for gripping elongated objects, such as electrical cords, are disclosed. The device comprises a one-piece, generally C-shaped ring member formed of at least two arcuate ring sections. The sections are hinged together to open and close in directions substantially normal to the longitudinal axis of the object encompassed by the grip.
