A foraminous basket is provided for use in washing and drying eating utensils in large volume dishwashers such as found in restaurants, institutions and the like. The basket is nestable and formed with one or more compartments for sorting the utensils prior to washing. A detachable cover is provided for closing the compartments and the basket is formed with a flat end wall for standing the basket in an upright washing position.
