A telescopic system formed of a relatively slidable plunger rod and cylinder is operated as a pneumatic spring equipped with an end-stroke electrically-actuated indicator. The plunger rod is fitted with a damping piston which is slidably mounted thereon between two stops secured thereto and used as valve members for partially obturating a groove formed on the piston face and communicating with an axial passage through the piston.
