An apparatus and method for the spray application of solvent-thinned coating compositions whereby optimum coverage of a substrate with a liquid film is consistently achieved without incurring sagging, run-off or surface irregularities, such as orange peeling, in spite of wide fluctuations in the temperature and/or humidity of the surrounding atmospheric environment.
