A thermal storage system includes a solar collector. A first fluid circulating through the collector is piped to a heat exchanger wherein heat in the first fluid is transferred to a second fluid circulating through a heat pump circuit. The temperature of the second fluid is further elevated by the heat pump and is circulated through a second heat exchanger thereby transferring heat to a third fluid.
