A device for the treatment of a fluid with magnetic lines of force comprises an elongated non-ferromagnetic outer casing and at least three spaced-apart elongated magnet assemblies positioned therein to form laminar passageways for said fluid. Each magnet assembly comprises at least one tier of at least two permanent magnets encased in non-ferromagnetic jackets and arranged in coaxial line in N－N and S－S relation.
