An attachment for the spout of a sink fixture permits the stream of mixed hot and cold water to be readily turned all the way on and off, by simple flipping of a snap-action lever control, without it being necessary to adjust the hot or cold faucets. The flipping is non-critical and does not require any fiddling. The desired temperature and rate of flow are maintained, after having been initially achieved, during subsequent turnings on and off of the stream.
