In a double-walled tank for low-temperature liquids, such as a liquid gas, an inner tank forms a primary safety casing while an outer tank, enclosing the inner tank, forms a secondary safety casing. The inner tank includes a base and an upwardly extending side wall with at least the base being formed of metal. Preferably, the outer tank is formed of reinforced concrete.
