As a new composition of matter, a dry powder capable of being incorporated into a wide variety of consumer antiperspirant products, which is obtained by drying an aqueous solution of the ingredients and pulverizing the dried product, and which consists essentially of from about 55 to about 90% by weight of active acidic antiperspirant material and about 3 to about 45% by weight of at least partially hydrolyzed carbohydrate derived from natural waxy maize, said hydrolyzed carbohydrate being soluble in water and acting to buffer and encapsulate said acidic antiperspirant.
