A system for improving the fuel economy of internal combustion engines comprises a thermostatically controlled heater located in the fuel line between the fuel tank and the carburetor for heating the fuel to a temperature just below its vaporization temperature. This temperature is controlled to result in a more complete vaporization of the fuel upon entering the carburetor.
