An apparatus for fermenting and carbonating beverages comprises a container for holding a quantity of beverage to be treated. A cap for closing the container has a cup attached to the top thereof and a valve therein for permitting access between the inside of the container and the cup. A first tubular chamber is attached to the inside of the cap by means of a depending circular flange.
