A paint roller cleaner wherein a paint roller is pivotally mounted within a housing, and an in-line series of jets of a water-detergent solution are directed at and along the paint roller. The line of jets is positionable so that they will both effect rotation of the roller and wash paint out of it. Cleaning is aided by the irregular surface of a scrubbing member which engages the paint roller as it is being sprayed with liquid and rotated.
