A plastic closure cap particularly suited for use in situations which require a tight seal such as with carbonated beverage containers is disclosed. A pair of sealing flanges extend downwardly and outwardly from an inner surface of the top of the closure cap. These sealing flanges have a horizontal seal interference distance which increases with increased cap size to maintain an effective sealing function.
