A liquid hard surface detergent composition comprising, on a total weight basis: (a) from about 0.1 to about 50 weight percent of a nonionic surfactant component at least about 10 weight percent of which, on a total nonionic surfactant component weight basis, is a glycoside surfactant of the formula: RO(R′O)y(Z)x I wherein R is a monovalent organic radical containing from about 6 to about 30 carbon atoms; R′is a divalent hydrocarbon radical containing from 2 to about 4 carbon atoms; y is a number having an average value of from 0 to about 12; Z is a moiety derived from a reducing saccharide containing 5 or 6 carbon atoms; and x is a number having an average value of from 1 to about 10; (b) from about 0.1 to about 50 weight percent of a water miscible organic solvent selected from the group consisting of alkylene glycol ether solvents and polyalkylene glycol ether solvents; (c) from about 0.1 to about 50 weight percent of a water soluble detergent builder; and (d) from about 10 to about 99.7 weight percent water.
