A pair of vortex generators are attached to the exterior surface of an aircraft and located forwardly of a flush inlet so as to effectively remove or reduce the thickness of a slower-moving boundary layer airflow ajdacent to the exterior aircraft surface and increase the mass airflow into the flush inlet.
