A screwdriver handle has helical grooves on the exterior, the threads of the helix being of a buttress type. The handle has a resilient external sleeve the interior of which fits into the helical grooves. When the user grips the sleeve and turns in normal fashion, the resiliency of the groove augments the turning action of the screwdriver blade.
