An apparatus for attaching a jump rope to a pair of handweights which has a C-shaped adapter which accommodates the full range of detachable weights normally used with aerobic handweights such as the “Heavy Hands”handweights of AMF Industries. The C-shaped adapter slips over the threaded extension on one end of each handweight and is held in place by the detachable weight after it is screwed down over the threaded extension.
