A flap is hinged on a container closure to swing between open and closed positions relative to a dispensing opening in the closure. When the flap is closed, upstanding ribs shield the free edge of the flap. A lift tab projects outwardly from the free edge of the flap and extends between the ribs to facilitate swinging of the flap to its open position.
