A vacuum probe (20,120) with an upwardly and inwardly sloping frustoconical outer sidewall (26,126) incorporates a connector (50,150) which forms the male half of a vacuum line quick connect/disconnect fitting. An axial passageway (48,148) extends through the probe (20,120) and has an automatic shutoff valve positioned therein.
