A carrier includes a hollow boxlike body member having a plurality of soft, pliable walls. At least one of the walls contains a compartment of a given width and an impact absorbing panel removably disposed therewithin. The panel has a width somewhat greater than the width of the compartment. The impact absorbing panel is slightly flexed end-to-end about its midplane to tension the compartment to maintain the wall taut in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
