A die casting apparatus for casting an article with an internally screw-threaded bore. The die casting apparatus includes a support, a die assembly coupled to the support, a core pin with external threads which are movable into and out of the die assembly, a lead screw for moving the core pin, a fixed bushing threadedly receiving the lead screw therein, a drive assembly, and a control assembly.
