The method generally involves heating a thermoplastic hydrogel to a temperature in the range of 50°C. to about 95°C. to a fluid flowable state, dispensing the fluid hydrogel onto the biomedical device and cooling the hydrogel to a substantially solid state. Microwave heating is preferred.
