Radiation resistant composites made of adjacent layers of a microporous hydrophobic polytetrafluoroethylene layer and one or more supporting layers made of woven metal material or woven synthetic organic polymeric material and a microporous hydrophobic polytetrafluoroethylene membrane are described.
