A system comprising: a wheelchair having a first and a second footrest; a wheeled IV stand having a pole; and a coupling device connecting said wheeled IV stand to said first and second footrests of said wheelchair, said coupling device comprising a first arm having a first end and a second end, said first end of said first arm comprising a clamp means for releasably connecting said first arm to said first footrest, said second end of said first arm being rotatably connected to a support member, and a second arm of said coupling device having a first end and a second end, said first end of said second arm being connected to said second footrest and said second end of said second arm being connected to said support member, said support member being connected to said pole.
