A portable, foldable basketball backboard assembly. In an upright deployed position the assembly is erected to provide a regulation size basketball backboard. The assembly may be folded downwardly into a compact, folded assembly that is sufficiently compact in size and short in height to permit it to be transported and stored in ordinary storage facilities.
